Sage Plant - Salvia officinalis

These sage plants all make an addition to any herb or perennial garden weather it is for culinary purposes or as a border plant in your garden. There are a quite a few different varieties of sage plants used for cooking herbs. The sage plant becomes a woody type plant and is easily propagated by cutting in early summer when new growth is prevalent.I have had good luck growing both of these herbs in a zone 4-5 climate in southern Maine. Both Varieties have wintered over for over 3 years in a raised bed with little shelter!
