Rosemary is an herb loved by all. It is an evergreen with foliage that is similar to pine needles. It blooms in the late spring and into the summer in a warm climate. It will bloom in the summer in northern climates. It can grow to up to 5 feet in height. The Rosemary plant likes well drained soil and grows best in partial sun. This herb is not perticuarlly hardy so is best grown in containers and brought indoors in the winter, if you want it to winter over. I like to plant it my gardens also and have had great luck taking cuttings off the new growth and growing them in house through out the winter. This is a great alternative if you have limited space.
The Rosemary herb is great for cooking in just about any dish. I just clip a little sprig of the plant as needed. However if you prefer dried rosemary you can simply clip branches of and hang it to dry.
