The Nepeta Faassenii - Walker's Low gray-green, aromatic foliage is accsented by the soft lavender-blue flowers which are produced over a long period in the summer. Like the "Six Hill Giants" the Cat Mint will re-bloom through out the summer if cut back after the old flowers have gone by. Although the stems are 2-3 feet long, the plant's arching habit brings the height down to 18 to 24 inches if it is not staked.
When stems of the Walker's Low are broken, they release an aroma into the air that tends to attract cats, thus its common name, Catmint. This perennials is a good alternative to Lavender in your perennial or herb garden. It also attracts Humming Birds.
