Firewitch was 2005 Perennial Plant of the Year. This variety of Dianthus is low growing with blue-green foliage and bright hot pink single flowers. Firewitch Dianthus also is a fragrant groundcover. It is colorful perennial with interesting foliage. If deadheaded, this species will flower heaviest in early summer and again in the fall.
