Common Thyme

This Thyme plant has bright purple to white flowers in summer. If you clip some of the new growth off for cooking it also will stimulate growth. The Common Thyme add a wonderful flavor to soups, baked poultry as well as many additional dishes! The Common Thyme herb goes well as a edge plant as it stays low to the ground it goes well in herb gardens with Sage and Rosemary. It is also hardy in some northern climates as I have mine in a zone 4-5 herb and perennial garden. It has wintered over for three years. I do make sure I mulch it well in the fall. It is in front of my Rozanne Geraniums and Black Eyed Susan in my perennial garden.
